Christopher shared with us that he came to this area from Santa Barbara at the request of the mother of his child. Trusting her, he made the move—only to later discover that he had been misled. Their relationship fell apart, and he eventually found himself put out with nowhere to go. Since then, Christopher has struggled to find stable employment and has been doing what he can to survive day by day.
Meeting Christopher Where He Was

When we met him, he shared that he had been sleeping near the railroad tracks, without a jacket or anything warm to protect him from the elements. On this particular day, our team encountered Christopher—and it was clear this was not by chance. We were there to serve, and he was there in need.
In that moment, we were able to provide warm clothing, offer encouragement, and remind him that he is not forgotten.
A Moment of Hope
By the time we left, there was a noticeable shift. What began as a moment of hardship became a moment of hope. Stories like Christopher’s remind us why this work is needed, necessary, and meaningful. Each encounter matters, and sometimes we are simply called to be present—right where we are, at the exact moment someone needs it most.
